GA Slips from 1st to 5th in CNBC’s Rankings of Top States for Business

June 24, 2015

After ranking #1 last year in CNBC’s rankings to the top states for business, Georgia has slipped down to fifth in 2015. The explanation for this year’s ranking:

“Georgia’s best category is its infrastructure, ranking No. 2. One of the state’s worst categories: quality of life. It ranked No. 36, due in part to the fact that it has one of the largest percentages of people without health insurance. Despite being one of the strongest states for job growth, unemployment is at 6.3 percent, well above the national average of 5.5 percent.”
